184: SENCHA MILK TEA PLACE

Tea places in BF Homes are like tiny sprouts in the field, they grow so fast in the most unexpected time and places. And when they grow, they make sure to grab your attention through its quirky logos, popping colors, and different shenanigans that would keep people from coming back for more.
This afternoon after church, I discovered SENCHA. One would not miss it because of its eye popping signage and cute illustrations.
The tea place boasts a very spacious and edgy design. The color scheme would really tickle your craving for anything sweet and yummy. What I liked about this place is that it veered away from the usual lime green and brown scheme, it stuck to its own identity--funky, upbeat, and friendly.
I seriously loved these chairs!
Proving that it became a home to many, the Sencha wall is definitely a fun are wherein you could read the random yet memorable experiences of the people who spent time in this place.
Of course I had to try what this quirky place had to offer and see what the buzz was about!
I ended up getting my choco fix with this Choco cake milk tea. It's definitely happiness in a medium plastic cup!
SENCHA is located at Unit 4 D-Square Building, #295 Aguirre Ave. corner F. Cruz st., Phase 3, BF HOMES, Paranaque City.

Till the next adventure!

183: LARCY'S CUPCAKERY CAFE

I first heard about Larcy's when my friend ROANNE SO shared it on Facebook. If I remember it correctly that was weeks before Christmas and knowing the whole craze we Filipino's go through when something new and exciting opens, I decided to let the hype go down a bit so that I will be able to secure myself a seat inside the place and appreciate everything about it.

And appreciate I did last night after our church service. This quaint cupcakery place is located at the heart of the busy street of Aguirre in BF Homes, Paranaque. It's a very refreshing change to have this pretty place for people to enjoy dessert and different blended drinks since the street is actually known for pubs and other restaurants.
Loving these bar stools. A quick and easy wear and tear tip: place metal framing around the foot rest to prevent scratches or foot marks.
I love the homey feel of Larcy's. I don't know if it just my bias for pink and dainty details but I must say, I thank God that we actually have this kind of place now in the south!
I actually wanted to try out the famous Pink Velvet but unfortunately they ran out. I guess this calls for a second trip? :)
A trip to Larcy's won't be complete without trying this amazing chocolate concoction! I literally had a huge smile on my face as I was lingering on the pure taste of malt.
Like what I said, I think I need to go on a second trip and take more interior photos. But here are some details that I loved so much. The beauty about the design for this place is that it is purely understated, it did not abuse any texture or color. It's the right amount of quirk, magic, and thought placed in one amazing hangout.

The second floor was dedicated to a roof deck and function rooms for different kind of gatherings.
I was actually surprised to see this when I went inside the restroom. I'm happy to see that the design was very
consistent that even to the restrooms, creativity was poured in. Props to whoever did this art. Although I have
a hint as to who (they) were ;)
A beautiful reminder to everyone who comes in and out. LOVE.
It is indeed true that inspiration runs everywhere. I loved every minute I spent in this place and it's definitely going to be bookmarked on my favorite places in the south.

LARCY'S is located at 178 Aguirre Street, BF Homes, Paranaque.

182: DESIGNER BLOOMS CAFE

A wise man once told me that if you plan to put up a business, you need to have a unique concept and you have to make sure that it works. I shall name that wiz, Thor Balanon. ;)

My family has developed this habit of pigging out every Sunday after attending church and to be honest with you, it's actually my favorite family activity! Few weeks ago while walking along the MOLITO commercial complex along Alabang, my family and I found this cute cafe with a quirky signage. The name of course rang a bell already because it came from the same owners of renowned flower shop DESIGNER BLOOMS. I badly wanted to go in that night but they were about to close already. After that night I told my family how we should come back and try what's in store for us in that quaint cafe.
Last Sunday, I finally had the chance to come in and actually experience DESIGNER BLOOMS CAFE and what my friend Thor said about how concept matters made me realize that it's indeed true. I loved the eclectic style of Interiors of the place, it's the kind of mash up of different furniture styles, colors, and patterns, but they meshed well together and formed a beautiful place for dining and appreciating the little quirks of the items you can find inside.

I love how they randomly placed different styles and sizes of mirrors to spruce up with brick accent wall. It gave out a dainty, shabby chic feel to the place.
Whoever said patterns with patterns never work? With the right kind you'd definitely achieve something.

I get so excited over bright colors and patterns. When I saw these coasters, I wanted to just buy them and take it home! It gave a really nice contrast against the solid wood table top they have.

In one corner of the cafe you'd find this traditional Filipino arm chair with solihiya paired up with a mod polka dot throw pillow.
That's my parents and my boyfriend discussing dessert over dessert. How deliciously redundant can that sound? ;)
I wanted to take this chair home and use it as my study chair. I can see myself in the middle of a breezy room with nothing but a long table, my laptop, and this chair.
Outdoor dining is not always all about having it outdoors. You can achieve the same feel indoors as well.
Here are some pretty stuff you can see around the place. If you're a cooking freak or you just love collecting different herbs, this place is for you!
I'm coming back for these on my next visit! I love succulents!
What is a Designer Blooms brand without its beautiful and colorful blooms?
What's the purpose of my visit if we didn't try any food? If you ask me how I would rate the food, please don't because as long as there's cheese involved in my order...I have no complaints! But to be honest, the food was good and worth every penny!
Butter pop corn was served while we were waiting for our orders
My dad's spinach sandwich
My mom'd carbonara. Say it with me - BACON ON TOP.
I really loved my Truffle Mac n Cheese! I wish I had more bacon though :P
We ended the night with a sugar high! We actually got another order of the Lemon Torte but right when I was about to take a photo of it, it was halfway finished :-P
A family that pigs out together, stays together.

Till the next family getaway! Thank you DESIGNER BLOOMS CAFE crew for being so friendly and accommodating. We really had a great time and you'll definitely see more of us in the next few days to come ;)

180: BACK TO DECEMBER

Growing up, I've always looked forward to that specific time of the year when everybody gets busy at home to decorate our doors and put up the Christmas tree. I've always loved walking along the streets to appreciate the beautiful lights from all the houses in our village. To me, it was magic!

I don't know what happened but every year, one house would stop decorating until it came to a point where nobody even bothered to decorate. Have we all grown up and lost the hype for this season? I just wish we keep that hype and let the kids now experience what my generation experienced before--pure, exciting, Christmas!
